About Us At Your Decatur Family YMCA
The history of the Decatur Family YMCA began over 100 years ago in
1877. We built our first building in downtown Decatur in 1907, and
opened the facility that is still standing at the corner of Church
Street and Prairie Avenue in 1952. Growth and the need for larger
facilities necessitated building our current facility and it was opened
on February 12, 2001.The Decatur Family YMCA of is one of Decatur
and Macon Counties leading non-profit, community services organizations.
A
progressive, volunteer-driven association, we have been serving the
Decatur community for over 129 years, through programs based on Christian
principles and the YMCA core values of Caring,
Honesty, Respect,
and Responsibility.
With a variety of programs available, such as health and fitness,
sports, day camp, community services, child care and more, it is easy
for anyone to connect to the YMCA. We share the facility with the
YWCA
of Decatur & Macon County with each of us providing
various programs to serve the needs of the community. Stop by at Decatur
Family YMCA located on 220 West McKinley Avenue in Decatur, Illinois
and see all of what we have to offer you and your family.
The
New Design Program Guide - Keeping You Informed!

In
order to keep you better in sync with the happenings at the Greater
Decatur Y we've changed the design of the Program Guide. You'll no
longer find dates and times for classes and programs printed in the
book. Those will be available on the website or a print version at
the Courtesy Desk. We have changed formats in order to keep class
schedules as accurate and up to date as possible. Click on the cover
at the left to view the current Winter-Spring
program guide. By clicking on the cover to the right, you'll be
able to get a jumpstart on your summer planning! This is the Summer
Program Guide - Summer scheduling begins June 2nd.
