As a not-for-profit organization, the Decatur Family YMCA treasures your support in any number of ways and a variety of opportunities exist. Many are simply unaware of the ways in which their YMCA can benefit from the generosity of members and benefactors.

 
Donations
Donations of equipment for Camp Sokkia, toys for the Nursery, sports equipment for use in the gym or on the field – all are gratefully accepted and help us hold the line on expenses while enhancing the experience of participating youth or adults. Contact any staff member; we'll gladly assist you in finding the areas of need.
 

YMCA Endowment and Heritage Club
Thoughtful gifts capable of providing lasting support for the YMCA's Mission can be given through our endowment fund. Becoming a member of the Heritage Club requires a commitment which now, or in the future, will add to the YMCA's Endowment Fund, allowing the YMCA to reach people in our community for years to come. The Heritage Club is a way in which your wishes may be honored, your legacy secured, while helping our community. Sponsorships
Many of the variety of youth programs throughout the Decatur Family YMCA have opportunities for yearly support where the donor may receive recognition while the program costs are kept family friendly for our participants. Strong Kids Campaign
Your YMCA serves children from all walks of life. We provide more than $170,000 worth of programs and services to children, seniors and families that typically can not afford recreation, character development and wellness. Staff donations reach $5,504. We are so excited that our staff in an unselfish display are among the first to donate for the 2011 campaign to help kids and families.

Board Member donations reach $16,350. In 2010 !00% of our board gave to help others, currently they are setting the pace for the 2011 campaign.

 
YMCA Role Model Wall Of Fame
In 2005, the Decatur Family YMCA began to recognize those individuals who have made a difference in the lives of children. We invited Role Model Level Donors, those giving at a level of $1500 and above, to nominate individuals who have truly made a difference in the life of a child through direct contributions of time and talents. Many who have been inducted since 2005 include teachers, coaches and those who have helped agencies fund children in need. The YMCA is an organization that prides itself on serving the needs of the entire community regardless of socio-economic status.
