Q & A

When will I hear from my team's coach: Coaches will contact their teams by April 10th.

When and where are games played?
Games are played every Saturday at YMCA Soccer Fields located off Imboden Drive in Decatur, Illinois just on Route 51(Veteran’s Pkwy) at Borg Warner Field.

When and where are practices?
Teams practice one or two times a week, depending on the age level, during weekday evenings. Practices kick off the week of April 16th.

Can my child play with another child in the program?
You will conveniently be placed on a team based on your location and request (requests are not guaranteed).

What do I need for the program?
Everyone needs: Shin guards, long socks over the shin guards, cleats are recommended and water bottles.

The YMCA will provide the jersey. Kids will need a ball for soccer practice and shin guards. Game Days: Team jersey with BLACK SHORTS and shin guards are to be worn on game days. Shin guards must be worn inside soccer socks. Cleats are not required for play, but are recommended. Team shirt and picture information will be handed out at the first game.

Practices: A proper size soccer ball (U5-U8 uses size 3, U10 uses size 4, and U14 uses size 5) and a water bottle should be brought to practice. Shin guards also need to be worn at practice.
Note to parents: Wearing of jewelry is not permitted during YMCA sports. Your child will be required to be remove all jewelry for all practices and games.
