Pedaling for Parkinson's

PEOPLE RIDING SPIN BIKES

Pedaling for Parkinson’s

Ride Toward Strength. Ride Toward Hope.

Pedaling for Parkinson’s is an evidence-based group cycling program that empowers individuals living with Parkinson’s Disease to take control of their health, one pedal at a time. Through safe, high-cadence cycling, participants experience improved mobility, better quality of life, and a renewed sense of strength and community.

This research-supported program is a free 8-week program and provides a welcoming, supportive environment where participants ride together and encourage one another. After the 8-week session, Y membership is required. Insurance based membership programs are also accepted.

Why It Works

Studies from the Cleveland Clinic and others show that forced-rate cycling—pedaling at a higher pace than one's voluntary cadence—can reduce Parkinson’s symptoms by up to 35%. Many participants report:

  • Increased endurance and balance

  • Improved motor function

  • Decreased stiffness and tremors

  • Enhanced mood and overall well-being

This program is about more than exercise—it’s about hope, movement, and connection.
